Our primary manufacturer; Eisenblaetter GmbH in Germany has always been a leader in product, environmental and user conscious sustainability. We have been working with Eisenblaetter for over 35 years.
Careful use of resources and lean manufacturing processes are part of their contribution to climate and environmental protection. During product developement and even selecting raw materials we largely avoid materials that have a negative impact on people and the environment; such as polluting minerlas, epoxy and fibre glass. Eisenblaetter has been a leader since the inception of the compant as fibre glass was never used in the flap disc making process.
In the manufacturing process, Eisenblaetter have been able to reduce their CO2 emissions by more than half thanks to their unique manufacturing processes, which is in contrast to the rest of the industry.
Eisenblaetter’s unique manufacturing process for flap discs is done without the use of thermal energy. We are the only ones to use our patented manufacturing processes for the the backing plates made of renewable raw materials (natural fibre compound).
Eisenblaetter’s unique natural fibre compound is not only leaps and bounds ahead of its competitors in terms of sustainability but in terms of usability for the user, due to reduced waste, no fibre glass, more flexibility (resulting in better heat dissipation).
Up to 70% of the electricity used in the factory is generated by large solar arrays on the roof and side of the factory. Water is also conserved where possible.
Eisenblaetter have always been at the forefront of sustainable manufacturing processes and practices. The PLANTEX flap disc, made from HEMP fibre was created 20 years ago. We are consistently working together to create not only the best product for Australian metalworking businesses but reduce our impact.
We have been reducing our foot print as much as possible here in Australia too with recycled packaging materials and boxes.
